The wine was aged for 17 months entirely in 2-4 year old French oak barrels.
Crushed into small open top fermenters and cold-soaked for two days, the must was inoculated and fermented on the skins for two weeks to develop full rich flavor and structure.
The “Alban” clone Grenache grown at Roblar Estate Vineyard’s ideal combination of light rocky soil and moderate climate, makes a wine of exceptionally deep color and rich structure. A small amount of Syrah was added to further accentuate the lush fruit character of this wine.
The color is a deep ruby and the aromas is bright cherry, Santa Rosa plum, notes of vanilla. The palate is concentrated flavors of cherry and plum, rich fruit finish.
