Named in honor of the majestic oak tree at the side of our Merlot block, this "Big Ben" Merlot has a wonderful depth of flavor with rich cherry, plum, and cocoa characteristics.

Aged for 18 months in French oak, the ten best barrels were selected for this blend.
Crushed into small open top fermenters and cold-soaked for two days, the must was inoculated and fermented on the skins for two weeks to develop full rich flavor and structure.
The Merlot grapes from our estate vineyard typically exhibit very rich cherry and plum flavors. Our “Big Ben” Merlot is made from a special lot which we allowed to achieve very full ripeness on the vine before harvesting, resulting in a wine of wonderfully lush and concentrated flavor.
Color is a dark ruby with aromas of dark cherry and plum, with overtones of vanilla. The Palate is rich cherry flavor, lush mouthfeel, smoothly integrated tannins, long finish.
