Dry Creek Valley
Sept 12th to 30th, 2014
Aged for 19 months in French oak barrels.
The grapes were crushed into small fermenters. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.
This MAGNUM COLLECTION wine is made from grapes grown at the Michel-Schlumberger estate vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. Our winemaker carefully selected individual barrels of Syrah, and added a small amount of a hillside block of Grenache to achieve the optimum expression of flavor for this Syrah.
The color is a dark ruby with aromas of rich dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, plum. The palate is a lush mouthfeel, long finish of dark fruit.
Food Pairing Notes
